Cohérence's classic model FOUFOU has two inspiration sources. One is a snapshot of Leonard Foujita at Deauville seashore on 1928, and the other is a “Motoring Coat” which has the same details as his coat: no belt and double breasted. The model's name comes from Mr. Foujita's nickname for his unique looks and attitude in his Ecole de Paris era. In French, FOUFOU means “Mad-Mad.” FOUFOU II is set with a “sloping raglan sleeve cut,” which enables flexible fitting.
