Collection: S.N.S. Herning

The S.N.S Herning trademark dates back to 1919 and comes from the founder, Søren Nielsen Skyt, and the town, Herning, where the business was conceived. Søren was a pioneer in the mechanization of the "bubble" knit, a technique that creates air pockets that increase a garment's insulation without increasing the amount of material used to make it. Previously only achievable through tedious hand-knitting, Søren's solution allowed for greater volume without any sacrifice in durability. The company remains in the hands of the the Skyt family today, who devotedly still knit these iconic Danish sweaters on the same machines that Søren developed in the 1930s with exceptional raw materials like 100% virgin wool. Traditionally worn by fishermen, S.N.S. Herning sweaters will hold up to the rigors of life and work and keep you warm all the while.
