The exterior is made of very robust English saddle leather, shown here in the mocca color. The inside is premium vegetable tanned cowhide.

The edges are finished with stained and wax-polish rather than paint, which would conceal the natural beauty of the material and age less gracefully.

The handle is made of 11 layers of leather, carefully shaped and saddle stitched together by hand.

Each bag is made individually to order. Delivery timeline: ~10-12 weeks

About the Brand

Kreis Ledermanufaktur seit 1963

In the second half of the 20th century, Germany emerged as a major industrial economy. Taking advantage of exceptional German tanneries and a highly skilled workforce in artisanal crafts, a thriving leather manufacturing industry existed just to the southeast of Frankfurt. The level of quality combined with the volume of production was something small-scale artisans like me can only dream of. Unfortunately, nearly all of that manufacturing base has disappeared - with the exception of one firm: Kreis. The Kreis family continues to produce the highest quality leather products in the world with an exceptional range of offerings from belts and wallets to bags and briefcases. As a shoemaker, I don't take that statement lightly. In fact, after seeing the way their products are constructed and the materials they use, I can honestly say there's no conceivable way they could be improved. Whether you're looking for a wallet, belt, bag, etc., there is a more expensive option out there, but there's not a better one than Kreis.
